Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warned that the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East poses significant risks to regional security and stability, particularly in the Gulf states.In a speech before the Malaysian Parliament today regarding the security situation in the region, Ibrahim stated that Malaysia calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and a constructive return to the negotiation path. He emphasized his country’s opposition to the Israeli-American attacks against Iran, which he said “could drag the region into a wider conflict.”Anwar pointed out that Israel continues to repeatedly violate international resolutions, including a series of attacks in Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria, as well as the ongoing massacres of Palestinians in Gaza. He explained that Malaysia believes it is necessary to take a firm stance against any actions that contravene the international order, in order to uphold the principle of the sovereignty of independent states.The Malaysian Prime Minister stressed that attacks on sovereign states will continue in the absence of tangible cooperation among the countries of the region.   Source link

The Saudi Ministry of Energy announced that the Ras Tanura oil refinery sustained limited damage due to debris resulting from the interception of two drones in the perimeter of the refinery.The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted an official source at the Ministry as saying that the incident caused a limited fire, which was immediately handled by emergency response teams, without any injuries or fatalities.The source added that some operational units at the refinery were temporarily shut down as a precautionary measure, without affecting the supply of petroleum and its derivatives to local markets.   Source link

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi warned on Monday of the consequences of escalating regional tensions on security and stability of the region and livelihoods of its peoples, as well as the economic impacts of the ongoing conflict, particularly on prices, especially energy, and on navigation in the Red Sea.During his meeting in Cairo with President of World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, President El Sisi outlined Egypt’s efforts to contain regional tensions and reaffirmed his country’s consistent position of calling for resolution of regional crises through peaceful means, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.He noted that Suez Canal Authority revenues had lost about 10 billion USD due to the war in Gaza over recent years.For his part, the President of World Bank Group highlighted ongoing coordination between the two sides to implement several development projects across various sectors, including social protection, health, food security, education, and climate change mitigation.   Source link

Chief Commissioner and CEO of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Capt. Daifallah Alfarajat, announced Monday that Jordan has partially closed its airspace to all inbound, transit, and outbound flights in the wake of the unfolding regional developments, to assess the risks based on the highest international standards.Alfarajat clarified that this procedure will be enforced on a daily basis, with the closure effective from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next day, adding that this decision shall be enforced starting from tonight until further notice in pursuit of ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordanian airspace.  Source link

The Lebanese government announced an immediate ban on all security and military activities of Hezbollah, considering them illegal, and called for the group to surrender its weapons to the state, limiting its work to the political sphere within constitutional and legal frameworks.The Lebanese Cabinet, in a statement, expressed absolute rejection, without any ambiguity, of any military or security operations launched from Lebanese territory outside the framework of legitimate state institutions. It stressed that the decision on war and peace rests solely with the state, which requires the immediate prohibition of all security and military activities of the group as they are considered illegal, and the obligation to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state.It instructed all military and security agencies to take immediate measures to implement the decision and prevent any military operations or launching of missiles or drones from Lebanese territory, and to arrest violators.The council also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify diplomatic contacts with the international community and other countries to halt the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and implement relevant international resolutions.   Source link

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,097 martyrs in addition to 171,796 wounded.The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip stated Monday that the Strip’s hospitals received one martyr and five injuries in the past 24 hours, while a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them so far.It said that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire last October has risen to 630, and the total number of wounded to 1,698, while the bodies of 735 martyrs have been recovered from under the rubble.  Source link

Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority announced on Monday the extension of the closure of Iraqi airspace to all arriving, departing and transit flights for an additional 48 hours, considering the ongoing regional developments.In a statement, the authority said the closure will remain in effect from today, Monday, until noon on Wednesday as a temporary and precautionary measure.It explained that the decision was based on a continuous assessment of the regional security situation and recent developments, noting that updates will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.Iraq’s Ministry of Transport had announced on Saturday the initial closure of the country’s airspace following airstrikes on Tehran. Earlier, the management of Erbil International Airport also suspended all flights to and from the airport until further notice.  Source link

Oman announced Monday that an oil tanker was attacked by a drone boat 52 nautical miles off the coast of the capital, Muscat, resulting in the death of one crew member.According to Oman News Agency, the tanker MKD VYOM, carrying approximately 59,463 metric tons and flying the flag of Marshall Islands, was targeted by a drone boat 52 nautical miles northwest of Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat Governorate. The attack caused a fire and an explosion in the main engine room, killing one Indian crew member.The agency said the tanker’s 21-member crew was evacuated in coordination with the Maritime Security Center by the commercial vessel MV SAND, flying the flag of Panama. The crew included 16 Indian nationals, four Bangladeshi nationals, and one Ukrainian national.It added that a vessel from the fleet of the Royal Navy of Oman is monitoring the condition of the damaged tanker and issuing the necessary warnings to ships transiting the same maritime area.   Source link

A fire that broke out after shrapnel hit a fuel tank at a power station has been contained, Kuwaiti authorities announced on Monday. The incident took place during an operation to intercept a drone. No injuries were reported.Spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Fatima Jawhar Hayat explained that a small fire broke out after shrapnel hit a fuel tank at the Doha West Power and Water Distillation Station.She confirmed that the incident resulted in no injuries and was limited to some minor material damage. Ministry teams are continuing to monitor the situation and take all necessary precautionary measures, she added.She stated that the country’s electricity and water systems are operating normally, with full readiness maintained to deal with any emergency. She urged everyone to obtain information strictly from official sources.  Source link
