Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has emphasised the importance of increasing diplomatic pressure on the Israeli occupation and removing all obstacles to the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.“These matters cannot be postponed. A determined demonstration of the international community’s will and capacity to impose sanctions would effectively restrain the Israeli occupation,” Erdogan said during a press gaggle aboard his plane returning from South Africa on Sunday, following his participation in the G20 Summit.During his meetings with G20 leaders and in the speeches he delivered throughout the summit sessions, Erdogan highlighted the need to maintain the existing ceasefire and advance reconstruction efforts.Addressing the humanitarian catastrophe facing Gazans, Erdogan underscored that all nations have a moral duty to stand with the Palestinians in their struggle. The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 69,775 martyrs in addition to 170,965 wounded.The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that hospitals in the Strip received the bodies of 17 martyrs in the past 24 hours, including 3 killed by direct fire from the occupation army and 14 that were recovered, along with 16 wounded.The Ministry also indicated that since the ceasefire came into effect on Oct. 11, a total of 345 people have been martyred and 889 injured, while 588 bodies have been recovered from the rubble.It should be noted that even though more than a month has passed since the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army continues its raids and targeting of various areas in the sector, causing the death of more martyrs and the injury of hundreds of unarmed civilians. Four Palestinians were martyred and others wounded on Monday in Israeli airstrikes targeting Gaza City and Khan Younis.According to medical sources in Gaza hospitals, one was martyred by artillery shelling in the Shuja’iyya area in al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City;Another victim was martyred by a drone strike east of Khan Younis, where two additional people were injured in the same strike, the Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported.Meanwhile, a Palestinian also succumbed to wounds he sustained from an Israeli drone in the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.WAFA reported that Israeli forces continue artillery shelling in the southern Gaza Strip and are detonating explosive-laden vehicles in the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, in an ongoing violation of the ceasefire agreement.Israeli army also launched airstrikes and opened fired from tanks and helicopters northeast of Rafah.The toll of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 69,756 martyrs and 170,946 injuries since Oct. 7, 2023.The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli entity came into effect on Oct. 11, following the withdrawal of the occupation forces from populated areas in the Gaza Strip and the start of the return of displaced people to northern Gaza, as part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s initiative to end the war on Gaza. Smoke rises from the site of an Israeli airstrike that targeted the southern Lebanese village of Mahmoudiyeh, Saturday. An Israeli strike in southern Lebanon killed one person Saturday, Lebanon’s health ministry said, in the latest attack despite a nearly year-long ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah group. In a statement, the ministry attributed the death to “an Israeli enemy strike” on a vehicle in Zawtar al-Sharqiyah.The ministry also reported that a grenade dropped by an Israeli drone in the southern town of Shaqra wounded five people. Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA) reported several more strikes elsewhere in the south and east, but no casualties reported so far.The Israeli military said it struck “several Hezbollah launchers that were recently identified and placed in military sites in southern Lebanon”. The army also hit “two Hezbollah military sites… including weapons storage facilities and additional military structures”, according to its statement. It did not immediately comment on the deadly incident in Zawtar al-Sharqiyah.The NNA identified the man killed as Kamel Reda Qarnabash, saying he was driving at the time. The Israeli army earlier Saturday had said that it killed a Hezbollah member in a strike the day before. “In a targeted strike the (Israeli army) eliminated a Hezbollah fighter in the Froun area in southern Lebanon” on Friday, the military said in a statement.It alleged the Hezbollah member had “advanced fighter attacks against the State of Israel” and its forces. The Lebanese health ministry said Friday that an Israeli strike on a vehicle in Froun killed one person. Lebanon has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024 — which sought to halt more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah — by continuing its strikes and maintaining forces inside its territory.Israel has said Hezbollah is working to rebuild its military capabilities, accusing the group of breaking the ceasefire terms. Gaza’s civil defence agency said 21 people were killed and dozens more wounded in multiple Israeli air strikes Saturday, as Hamas and Israel again traded allegations of violating the fragile ceasefire. Saturday was one of the deadliest days since the US-brokered truce between Israel and Hamas came into effect on October 10, after two years of war.Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the civil defence agency which operates under Hamas authority, said there were “21 martyrs this evening in five separate Israeli air strikes, in a clear violation of the ceasefire in Gaza”.They included seven killed and more than 16 injured in a strike on a house in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, and four killed and several injured in an air strike on a residential apartment in the Al-Nasr district, west of Gaza City, he said.The first reported strike targeted a vehicle in the Al-Rimal neighbourhood in western Gaza City. Five people were killed and several injured, said Bassal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office accused Hamas of breaching the truce agreement. “We again call on the mediators to insist that Hamas fulfil its side of the ceasefire.” In a statement, Hamas said the “escalation” of Israeli violations were “attempts to undermine the ceasefire”.
