The 12th governing committee of Thrissur Jilla Souhridavedhi (TJSV) for the 2025-2027 term has been formed, comprising 10-member central committee, 15 sector committees, 14 sub-committees, an advisory committee, and four co-ordinators, along with around 500 councillors.
The key officials are Vishnu Jayaram Dev (president), Sharaf Muhammad (general secretary), and Thomas K O (treasurer). The initial session of the general assembly was presided by former president Abdul Ghafoor. Former secretary Abdul Razak welcomed the gathering, former general secretary Vishnu Jayaram Dev presented the activity report and former financial controller Jayanandan presented the financial report. General co-ordinator Muhammad Mustafa, family security scheme chairman Pramod, Karunya scheme chairman Srinivasan and secretary Abdul Rasak were present.
The election officers Abdul Jabbar, Jibish and Umar Kutty declared the elected members of the sector and central committees. Vishnu Jayaram Dev announced the 14 sub-committees nominated by the president and the advisory committee members. The oath was administered by advisory committee chairman V S Narayanan, with the newly appointed members repeating the pledge. Indian Cultural Centre president A P Manikantan, TAC Qatar director Unnikrishnan Kalarikkal, NRI Society co-ordinator V K Saleem, TJSV founding president Hyderali Karuthakka, Women’s Wing former chairperson Rajeena Salim, and legal adviser Jafar Khan were among those who feted the new committee.
Earlier, the oath ceremony began with a welcome dance by students trained by TAC Qatar classical teacher Wincy Fernandes. Secretary Pramod proposed a vote of thanks.
