The event at the Indian Cultural Centre on the evening of August 15, featured songs, dances and an honouring ceremony for social workers. Ambassador Vipul was the chief guest. embassy first secretary and ICBF co-ordinating officer Eish Singhal, labour officer Ravi Rathi and community leaders were present.
The envoy presented mementos to the awardees and appreciated their commitment in humanitarian activities.
He also distributed free food kits to nearly 100 fishermen before the commencement of the programme.
Ambassador Vipul emphasised the importance of the India-Qatar bilateral relationship and pointed out the recent improvements in the strategic partnership between the two countries.
ICBF president Shanavas Bava delivered the presidential address. Jail visits head Neelambari S and Pradeep Pillai co-ordinated the cultural events. Managing committee members Amarvir Singh, Mini Siby, Manibharathi, and Irfan Ansari co-ordinated the function. Programme committee Varkey Boban presented a spot quiz competition for the workers. ICBF general secretary Deepak Shetty welcomed the gathering, and labour and fishermen welfare head Shankar Goud proposed a vote of thanks.
