The State of Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation of the Iranian attack that targeted Kuwaiti territory this morning, describing it as a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and airspace, as well as of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Kuwait’s full and inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter in response to this blatant aggression, in a manner proportionate to the scale and nature of the attack and in accordance with international law.
It also stressed that all necessary measures will be taken to protect its territory, its people, and residents therein, and to ensure the preservation of its sovereignty, security, and stability.
The Ministry added that Kuwait’s defense systems successfully intercepted the attack in line with approved operational procedures and applicable rules of engagement, noting that the continuation of such aggressive military actions in the region would undermine regional security and stability.
