Lebanon Government announces ban on security and military activities of Hezbollah

The Lebanese government announced an immediate ban on all security and military activities of Hezbollah, considering them illegal, and called for the group to surrender its weapons to the state, limiting its work to the political sphere within constitutional and legal frameworks.The Lebanese Cabinet, in a statement, expressed absolute rejection, without any ambiguity, of any military or security operations launched from Lebanese territory outside the framework of legitimate state institutions. It stressed that the decision on war and peace rests solely with the state, which requires the immediate prohibition of all security and military activities of the group as they are considered illegal, and the obligation to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state.It instructed all military and security agencies to take immediate measures to implement the decision and prevent any military operations or launching of missiles or drones from Lebanese territory, and to arrest violators.The council also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify diplomatic contacts with the international community and other countries to halt the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and implement relevant international resolutions.
