The ministry said in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency that the electrical grid has completely shut down across all Iraqi provinces.It added that an investigation is underway to determine the causes and is working to restore power to the affected stations and lines.In a related development, the Salah Al Din police in Iraq confirmed that a technical malfunction caused the Baiji power station to shut down, and that reports circulating about it being targeted are false.The provincial police command said in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency that reports circulating about the Baiji power station being targeted are completely unfounded. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced today that Italy will send air defenses to support Gulf states currently under attack from Iran.In a statement, Meloni said, “Italy, like the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, intends to send aid to the Gulf countries”.She said the support comes not just because “they are friendly nations but because there are tens of thousands of Italians there”, along with “around 2,000 Italian soldiers that must be protect.”Meloni revealed that authorizations are in place for the United States to use its bases in Italy for operations that do not include bombing, noting that any change to this would require the approval of the government and parliament. The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy in Kuwait announced Wednesday the finalization of repairs to several electric energy transportation lines that had been affected due to falling debris.The repair of the most affected overhead power lines had been accomplished, with five of nine lines being recommissioned based on the highest approved technical standards, as well as safety and security measures, after they were subject to technical inspection and assessment, said spokesperson of the Ministry, Eng. An 11-year-old girl in Kuwait died from injuries sustained from falling shrapnel in a residential area of the Capital Governorate, Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad said today.Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported a press release from the Minister saying that the girl received first aid before being rushed by ambulance to the casualty ward of the Amir Hospital where she was pronounced dead half an hour later, the minister noted in a press release.The statement added that tour members of the victim’s family were under medical observation at the hospital.
