DPS–Modern Indian School has once again demonstrated its mathematical excellence by securing a place among the top four finalists in the prestigious Pi Day Mathematics Competition 2026 (Preliminary Round), marking the school’s eighth consecutive year of outstanding performance in this national-level competition.Organised by Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, the Pi Day Mathematics Competition was introduced in 2016 aimed at inspiring high school students to deepen their mathematical understanding and engage in healthy academic competition.The 2026 preliminary round, held on February 14 witnessed participation from nearly 100 schools across Qatar, making the achievement even more commendable. The Philippine Muslim Federation (PMF) Qatar successfully conducted back-to-back community activities in early February, strengthening unity and promoting Islamic values among Filipino Muslims in the country.On February 4, PMF organised the 2nd PMF Bowling Tournament at the Qatar Bowling Centre. The event served as a fundraising activity for the upcoming Qur’an for Kids Season 5. A total of 10 teams participated and showed strong support for the noble cause.The Philippine Muslim Association emerged as the champion of this year’s tournament. The Organisation of Muslim Mindanao Overseas Workers secured second place, followed by Al Salaam Inc in third. Davao Muslim Organisation Qatar in fourth place and Team Primoz in fifth. Other participating teams included the Philippine Overseas Muslim Development Association, Team Radz, Al Muttahidat, HMC-POGS, and Fazicaldo.The tournament was marked by a spirit of sportsmanship, friendship, and brotherhood among the participants, making it a memorable evening for the community.On February 6, PMF conducted another major activity in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan. The PMF Istiqbal Ramadan programme was held at the Academia International Institute and Studies. The event featured three esteemed speakers: Ustadz Mohammad Bin Mohd Tayb Sacatan Pagayawan, Ustadz Zacaria Abbas Madale, and Ustadz Tirmidhi Musa, who shared valuable insights on spiritual and physical preparation for Ramadan.PMF president Cary Yasir M Aragat thanked all supporters and participants who contributed to the success of the programme. MES Kindergarten Section recently celebrated Fairy Tale Day with vibrant joy and creativity, transforming the campus into a delightful world of imagination and wonder. The event was a kaleidoscope of colour and enchantment, bringing beloved fairy tales to life and creating lasting memories for all who attended.Adding to the ‘magic’, the little ones arrived in bright, beautiful costumes inspired by popular fairy tale characters. Princesses, heroes, and storybook figures filled the kindergarten, infusing the atmosphere with excitement and fantasy. The children of KG 2 further enlivened the festivities by singing fairy tale–themed rhymes, spreading cheer and delight among the audience. A storytelling competition was held for KG 1 and KG 2 students, in which young narrators confidently presented their stories with creative props. Their performances brilliantly showcased their imagination, expressive abilities, and developing language skills. Qatar Indian Masters emerged as overall champions at the Community Sports Meet, organised by Expats Sportive in celebration of Qatar National Sport Day. Excelling in both track and field events, they secured 147 points to claim the title. KL 10 Legends finished second with 117 points, followed by Calicut Sports Club with 108 points. Syro Malabar Cultural Association and Kia Qatar placed fourth and fifth, respectively.Held at the Aspire Zone Warm-Up Track and Field with the approval of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, the meet featured around 750 athletes competing in 37 events across athletics and games. Competitions included 100m, 200m, 800m, and 1,500m races, 4×100 relay, long jump, high jump, shot put, arm wrestling, tug of war, shootout, and cricket bowling.The event also showcased a vibrant march past, with cultural performances including Oppana, Kolkali, Chenda Melam, martial arts displays, and tableaux celebrating the diversity of India and Qatar.
