Israeli occupation forces and settlers conducted 23,827 assaults on the Palestinians and their property in various governorates across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem in 2025, a record upsurge in the number of assaults recorded in one year, the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said in a report Monday.The report added that these attacks were distributed between 1,382 in the land and crops sector, 16,664 in the individuals sector, and 5,398 in the properties sector, with the occupation army carrying out 18,384 assaults, while the settlers carried out 4,723, and both parties together executed 720.The year 2025 had been heavily blood-soaked with maps and decisions as the occupation state didn’t stop at expanding settlement, but sought to expand the true meaning of control per se, as domination hadn’t been limited to land as a space, but went further to redefine geography, symbol, and the entire Palestinian existence, the Commission noted.The report added that the settler assaults have resulted in the slaying of 14 Palestinians since the beginning of the year, which explicitly caused 434 arson incidents against the property and gardens of the Palestinians.The occupation army and settlers conducted 892 assaults that were marked by uprooting, damaging, and poisoning as many as 35,273 trees, of them 26,988 olive trees, the report continued.It clarified that settler terrorism led to the displacement of 13 Palestinian Bedouin communities since the beginning of last year, consisting of 197 families including 1,090 individuals, from their places of residence to other locations.The occupation authorities carried out a total of 538 razings, resulting in the destruction of 1,400 facilities in an unprecedented upsurge, including 304 inhabited houses, 74 uninhabited houses, as well as 270 livelihood sources and 490 agricultural facilities, the report concluded, noting that the number of notifications delivered to Palestinians rose to 991.Regarding settlement expansion, the report noted that the occupation authorities last year seized an area of 5,572 dunums through 94 seizure orders for military purposes, 24 of which triggered the establishment of buffer zones around the settlements.The statistics showed that since the beginning of 2025, the occupation authorities’ planning committees studied a total of 265 master plans for the construction of 34,979 settlement units on an area of 33,448 dunums.The report outlined that 2025 marked an advanced stage in leveraging legal systems as a central tool to deepen the colonial scheme, with the Israeli occupation’s Knesset laying out a record number of draft legislation and legislative amendments.These moves, the report says, were explicitly intended to legitimize the colonial status quo, broaden the powers of settlers and their local councils, as well as consolidate the legal discrimination in managing lands, planning, and construction.This draft legislation included settling colonial outposts that had been enacted without previous government decisions, in addition to reinforcing the Israeli control over the West Bank territories through transferring additional civil discretion to the occupation’s institutions, the report highlighted.It stressed that the objective was to blunt the legal status of the Palestinian lands and their owners, such as the law to enable settlers to acquire land and property and to alter the names of Palestinian land to obsolete biblical names.Head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Mu’ayyad Shaaban, stressed that the current period requires an urgent national transition from risk description to building a comprehensive response to protect the Palestinian territory.This response, he noted, should be based on outright distribution of roles and integrated efforts between official institutions and the political and societal forces to restore the land’s status as the essence of the conflict.As such, Shaaban called for upgrading the popular resistance tools to ensure their continuity and effectiveness and be converted from seasonal and symbolic action into meaningful and organized ones.Shaaban emphasized the importance of building a national political and media rhetoric that redefines what is transpiring as a pure settlement colonization to replace the Palestinian territory.He concluded that all these measures fall under a consensus national vision to protect the Palestinian geography where the supreme national interest takes hold. Turkiye’s annual inflation rate fell in December to its lowest level in 49 months. In a statement today, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said that the annual inflation rate reached 30.89 percent last month, its lowest level since November 2021 when it stood at 21.31 percent.The statement added that the consumer price index increased by 0.89 percent monthly in December, while the producer price index rose by 0.75 percent.  The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) more than 12,000 Palestinian children are living in a state of “forced displacement” in the West Bank as a result of Israel’s ongoing military operation in the northern governorates. Since Jan. 21, 2025, the Israeli occupation army has been carrying out a military operation in the northern West Bank known as “Iron Wall,” which began in the Jenin refugee camp and later expanded to the Nur Shams and Tulkarm refugee camps. The UN agency stated via its account on X social media platform that “more than 12,000 children remain forcibly displaced in the occupied West Bank.” It added that in Feb. 2025, it launched an emergency education program for displaced children in the northern West Bank to ensure the continuity of their education through temporary learning spaces, online teaching, the distribution of self-learning materials, and psycho-social support. UNRWA noted that around 48,000 Palestinian children study in its schools in the West Bank. Since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, which lasted two years, the Israeli army and settlers have intensified their actions in the West Bank, including killing Palestinian civilians, demolishing homes and displacing their residents, and expanding settlement construction.  Source link

The death toll from the Israeli occupation's ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip has reached 71,386 fatalities, with 171,264 others injured, since Oct. 7, 2023, according to medical sources.  Local health authorities reported Sunday that three fatalities and 13 injured individuals arrived at hospitals in Gaza during the past 48 hours. However, many victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, with emergency and civil defense teams still unable to reach them.  The sources further stated that the total number of Palestinians martyred since the ceasefire came into effect on Oct. 11 has risen to 420, while the total number of injuries has reached 1,184. Additionally, 684 bodies have been retrieved from the debris.  Source link

Palestinian fisherman was martyred and another was injured by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire on Sunday morning in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.Local sources said that a fisherman was martyred, and another fisherman was injured by the gunfire from the Israeli navy while sailing off the coast of Khan Younis. With the killing of the fisherman, the total number of Palestinians martyred since the ceasefire began on Oct. 11 has risen to 420, while the total number of injuries has surpassed 1,171.  Source link

 Three rockets hit the Mazzeh area of the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday, local authorities said, adding that one damaged a mosque and another landed near a military airport.Syria’s official SANA news agency had earlier reported that an unidentified missile had struck the area without causing any casualties.”Random rockets fell in the Mazzeh area… One struck the dome of the Al-Muhammadi Mosque, another hit a telecommunications building, and the third landed near Mazzeh Military Airport,” local authorities said in a statement.State television quoted a security source as saying the “three rockets struck simultaneously” and that one of them caused “material damage” to the mosque.  Source link

The Southern Transitional Council (STC) said in a statement Saturday the Saudi initiative was a “genuine opportunity for serious dialogue” that could safeguard “the aspirations of the southern people”. The STC’s statement came hours after Yemen’s ‍internationally recognised government said it had retaken control of Mukalla, the key eastern port and capital of Hadramout province, from the southern separatists who seized it last month. Rapid government gains since Friday have reversed many of the STC gains last month. Meanwhile, the Saudi Foreign Ministry also said Saturday it was “keen to strengthen and preserve relations with the UAE”.  Related Story Source link

Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Saturday acknowledged the economic demands of protesters in Iran, where demonstrations have spread to more than two dozen cities, even as he warned there would be no quarter for “rioters”. The protests began last Sunday as an expression of discontent over high prices and economic stagnation, but have since expanded to include political demands.Iranian media have reported localised violence and vandalism in the west of the country in recent days. “During clashes in Malekshahi, Latif Karimi, a member of the IRGC, was killed while defending the country’s security,” Mehr news agency said. Malekshahi is a county of about 20,000 residents with a large Kurdish population, where “rioters attempted to enter a police station”, according to separate news agency Fars, which added that “two assailants were killed”. Mehr earlier reported a member of the Basij paramilitary force was also killed during another protest in western Iran after being “stabbed and shot” by “armed rioters”. The protests have affected, to varying degrees, at least 30 different cities, mostly medium-sized, according to an AFP tally based on official announcements and media reports. At least 12 people have been killed since Wednesday in clashes, including members of the security forces, according to a toll based on official reports. Speaking to worshippers gathered in Tehran for a religious holiday, Khamenei said the protesters’ economic demands in the sanctions-hit country were “just”. “The shopkeepers have protested against this situation and that is completely fair,” he added. But Khamenei nonetheless warned that while “authorities must have dialogue with protesters, it is useless to have dialogue with rioters. Those must be put in their place.”The first deaths were reported on Thursday as demonstrators clashed with authorities. The Tasnim news agency, citing a local official, also reported a man was killed on Friday in the holy city of Qom, south of Tehran, when a grenade he was trying to use exploded “in his hands”.  Related Story Source link

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has welcomed the request of President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi to convene a comprehensive conference in Riyadh to bring together all southern factions to discuss just solutions to the southern cause.The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) today, “Saudi Arabia welcomes the request of the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and calls upon all southern factions to actively participate in the conference to develop a comprehensive vision for just solutions to the southern cause that fulfills the legitimate aspirations of the southern people.” Riyadh Source link
