Jordan has said its air force had intercepted and destroyed a missile attack from Iran as regional tensions continue to intensify.In a statement on Tuesday, the Jordanian Armed Forces said the Royal Air Force has shot down four Iranian missiles targeting its territory over the past 24 hours, successfully neutralizing them before impact.Meanwhile, the Public Security Directorate said its units responded to 17 reports of falling debris and projectiles. While no casualties were reported, authorities confirmed that some material damage had occurred.Authorities reiterated warnings to the public against approaching or handling any suspicious objects or fragments, citing its potential danger. Residents were also urged to follow safety guidelines issued by official authorities. Israeli occupation authorities have continued, for the 32nd consecutive day, to close Al-Aqsa Mosque to worshipers, citing security conditions linked to the US-Israeli war on Iran, according to Jerusalem-based sources.In a related context, alleged ‘Temple groups’ continue to incite incursions into the mosque compound during the Hebrew Passover celebrations, calling for the performance of sacrificial rituals within it and demanding that the mosque be opened from April 2 to April 9.The occupation authorities are using the prevailing situation as a pretext to tighten their control over Al-Aqsa Mosque, amid growing public and Jerusalemite calls to mobilize at surrounding checkpoints and military barriers in an attempt to break the imposed siege and reopen it to worshipers.  Source link

Four people sustained minor injuries after shrapnel fell on several homes in Dubai, UAE.The Dubai Media Office said in a post on X platform that authorities are responding to an incident caused by shrapnel from a successful interception, which fell on residential houses in southern Dubai.The incident, the office added, resulted in property damage and minor injuries to four Asian nationals. Dubai authorities confirmed that emergency teams successfully dealt with the incident involving a Kuwaiti oil tanker in Dubai, the UAE.Dubai’s Government Media Office said in a statement posted on X that no oil spill or injuries were reported as a result of the incident.Earlier on Tuesday, the Office announced that the fire that broke out on the Kuwaiti oil tanker after it was targeted by an Iranian drone had been extinguished. It added that the relevant teams were continuing to assess the situation and take the necessary measures.Kuwait Petroleum Corporation had previously reported that the giant Kuwaiti crude oil tanker Al Salmi was directly targeted in a deliberate Iranian attack while in the anchorage E of Dubai Port.  Source link

The Israeli entity continued its attacks on villages and towns in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes targeted the town of Abba in the south of the country, killing a young man after his house was struck.It added that the town of Doueir was also subjected to a heavy airstrike that targeted a house in the Al-Rous neighborhood, completely destroying it.Warplanes also launched an attack on the Al-Samouqa between Jebchit and Abba neighborhood in the town of Deir Al Zahrani.The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon has risen to 1,247, with 3,680 wounded.   Source link

The speaker of Iran’s parliament accused the United States yesterday of plotting a ground attack despite publicly pushing for a negotiated deal, after a US warship with around 3,500 military personnel arrived in the Middle East. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf’s comments came after more than a month of aerial bombardments of Iran by US and Israeli forces, and as key regional players held talks in Pakistan. The war has escalated into a regional conflagration as Iran has retaliated with attacks on Gulf states and the Strait of Hormuz shipping lane, sending energy markets into a tailspin and threatening the world economy. “The enemy publicly sends messages of negotiation and dialogue while secretly planning a ground attack,” Ghalibaf said in a statement carried by the official IRNA news agency. “Our men are waiting for the arrival of the American soldiers on the ground to set them on fire and punish their regional allies once and for all,” he added.Ghalibaf called for unity among Iranians, saying the war was “at its most critical stage”. Weeks of unrelenting strikes have taken a heavy toll on ordinary people in the country.“I miss a peaceful night’s sleep,” an artist in Tehran told AFP, saying night-time strikes were “so intense it felt like all of Tehran was shaking”. Farzaneh, a 62-year-old woman in Iran’s western city of Ahvaz contacted by AFP from Paris, said: “People wake up each day worried about an uncertain future.” A university in Iran’s central city of Isfahan said it was hit by US-Israeli airstrikes yesterday for the second time since the war erupted. In Tehran, the news channel Al Araby said an Israeli missile hit the building housing its office. Footage from inside the office showed broken windows and shattered glass.Outside, people could be seen clearing large piles of rubble. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly spoken of diplomatic contacts with Iran, although these claims have been denied by Tehran. Pakistan, acting as a go-between for Washington and Tehran, hosted foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt in Islamabad for talks on the crisis. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the visiting diplomats had discussed how to “bring an early and permanent end to the war” and that there was a growing consensus behind Islamabad hosting peace talks. Despite making diplomatic overtures including proposing a 15-point plan to end the war, the US has also been sending more military assets into the region. The USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship carrying around 3,500 Marines and sailors, arrived in the Middle East on Friday. The Washington Post reported the Pentagon was preparing plans for weeks of ground operations — potentially including raids on sites near the Strait of Hormuz — though US President Donald Trump has yet to approve any deployment. Iran says it has closed the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane which previously accounted for a quarter of the world’s seaborne oil trade and a fifth of liquefied natural gas shipments, to vessels from hostile nations. FIRE AT COMPLEXIranian forces said they had fired a volley of missiles and drones at plants belonging to two of the world’s largest aluminium producers in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, targeting what they described as industries linked to the US military. Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) said an Iranian attack wounded six and caused significant damage to its plant, while Bahraini state media said two Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA) employees were injured in a second attack. In Israel, thick black smoke could be seen rising from an industrial complex in the Negev desert in images released by the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority. The military said the impact may have been caused by missile shrapnel, shortly after it detected a new barrage fired from Iran. In Kuwait, the defence ministry said 10 service members were injured by an attack on a military camp and that the country had detected 14 ballistic missiles and 12 hostile drones in its airspace in the past 24 hours.On another front, Israeli attacks have continued in Lebanon, which was drawn into the war when Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel on March 2. The health ministry said yesterday that the death toll from Israeli strikes had passed 1,200 people. On Saturday, the Israeli military killed three journalists in the south.Lebanese authorities condemned the killings as war crimes, while Israel alleged that one of the reporters was also a member of an elite Hezbollah combat unit. Hundreds of mourners gathered in the rain for the funeral of the three journalists near Beirut yesterday.  Source link

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, confirmed that a joint Gulf-Russian-Jordanian ministerial meeting will be held on Monday via videoconference. In a statement issued Sunday, the GCC Secretary-General said the meeting with Jordan and Russia will address and discuss the repercussions of Iranian attacks on GCC member states and Jordan, as well as the serious developments in the region and their negative impacts on the wider world. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the death toll from Israeli attacks on the Lebanese health sector has risen to 52.WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X platform that a paramedic was killed in an attack targeting an ambulance in Bint Jbeil.”A medical warehouse in the same city was destroyed in an attack,” he added.Prior to this attack, Ghebreyesus said that WHO had verified the deaths of 51 Lebanese health workers, including nine paramedics, on Saturday.Earlier, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon had risen to 1,238, with 3,543 injured since March 2.The Israeli entity continues to launch a series of raids on several villages and towns in southern Lebanon, in addition to areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut.  Related Story Source link
