Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani affirmed that the Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and Jordan, which resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, private property, and economic and oil facilities, constitute a serious violation of the UN Charter, the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, and the principles of good neighborliness, and a direct threat to regional and international peace and security.The Foreign Minister said, in a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) today, that these Iranian attacks, which terrorize innocent civilians and peaceful residents, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, are completely unjustified, given his country’s, the GCC countries’, and the Arab countries’ commitment to peace, dialogue, diplomacy, and mediation as strategic options for resolving conflicts.He stressed that this aggressive behavior undermines regional stability and constitutes a flagrant violation of international laws, human values and ethical standards.The Minister reiterated that Bahrain, as the current chair of the GCC, promotes Gulf solidarity, both officially and popularly, and unity in the face of external aggression, based on the principle of collective security, stressing that the security of the GCC states is indivisible, in accordance with the Basic Law and the Joint Defense Agreement.The Foreign Minister stressed the legitimate right of Bahrain and the sisterly countries to self-defense, which allows them to take all necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity, in coordination with their allies and partners, in accordance with Article (51) of the UN Charter.He also affirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, and adherence to the principles of good neighborliness to overcome the current crisis, spare the region further escalation, and preserve the security and safety of its people.Al Zayani urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council (UNSC), to assume its legal responsibilities by taking immediate and decisive action to stop Iranian violations, and to work together to ensure the security of airspace, maritime and waterways, the safety of supply chains, and the stability of global energy markets, stressing that the stability of the Arabian Gulf region is a fundamental pillar of global economic stability and peace. Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a residential building in the city of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon early this morning, resulting in the deaths of four people and the injury of six others, according to a preliminary toll.The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the targeted building consists of four floors and is part of a complex in Al Matraba neighborhood of Baalbek. Rescue teams were still working to extract families trapped beneath the rubble.Earlier, the Israeli army had issued warnings to residents of several Lebanese villages and towns.Lebanon’s Ministry of Health had previously announced that six people were killed and eight others injured in two Israeli airstrikes that targeted the areas of Aramoun and Saadiyat in the Mount Lebanon Governorate. The Government of Dubai Media Office announced that the competent authorities were able to extinguish a small fire that broke out Tuesday night in the vicinity of the US Consulate in Dubai as a result of a drone attack, confirming that no injuries occurred.The office said in a post on X that civil defense teams and security services immediately responded to the incident. The post added that the fire was brought under control and the situation has been contained, in addition to the area being secured and the necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of individuals and property.The relevant authorities confirmed that the situation is now under complete control and that work in the area is proceeding normally.The UAE said on Tuesday that its air defenses had dealt with 186 Iranian ballistic missiles since Saturday morning, destroying 172 of them, while 13 missiles fell into the sea, and one missile fell inside the country’s territory.The country also affirmed its full and legitimate right to respond to Iranian attacks in accordance with international law, in order to protect its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence announced today that it had intercepted 97 ballistic missiles and 283 drones since the start of the Iranian aggression. Spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan stated that the Kuwaiti Air Defence Forces detected 97 Iranian ballistic missiles launched towards Kuwait and 283 drones since the beginning of the aggression. He noted that they were engaged according to the rules of engagement, and a number of them were destroyed. Al-Atwan explained that the effective interception of the missiles and drones resulted in some debris falling on several facilities in various parts of the country, causing minor material damage. Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday warned of the negative repercussions of the ongoing regional conflict, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its potential impact on the Suez Canal.Speaking during celebrations marking the anniversary of the October 6 victories, El-Sisi said Egypt is mindful of the consequences of the war, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and the effect on the Suez Canal.Since October 7, 2023, navigation has not returned to normal, and Egypt has suffered material losses. Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, renewed his country’s condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, affirming its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.Speaking on Sunday while leading Kuwait’s delegation at the 50th extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, held via videoconference, the minister said Kuwait would take all necessary and legitimate measures proportionate to the nature and scale of the aggression.He described the attacks as a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and airspace, and a clear breach of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter.Sheikh Jarrah expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by brotherly and friendly countries, reaffirming Kuwait’s full support for fellow states targeted in the attacks and backing any measures taken to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and stability.He also stressed that the security of GCC member states is indivisible, warning that any infringement on the sovereignty of one member constitutes a direct threat to collective Gulf security. Bahrain said its air defence systems had successfully intercepted dozens of Iranian missiles and drones targeting the country. In a statement, the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force said a total of 61 missiles and 34 drones were intercepted and brought down. It added that all defence systems remain on maximum alert to respond swiftly and decisively to any threat. The statement described the use of ballistic missiles and drones against civilian sites and private property as a grave violation of international humanitarian law, particularly the principles of distinction and proportionality.
