Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum 3-2-1 Blitz Chess for U16 concludes

The third edition of the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum 3-2-1 Blitz Chess Championship for Under-16 was held with great enthusiasm on Tuesday.

The tournament, held at the museum hall, saw the participation of 50 players, including 40 Qatari players. The competition was held using the Swiss system and consisted of six rounds.

American Adam Shahab al-Din finished in first place with 6 points, while Qatari national team player Asma al-Hammadi finished second with 5 points. Jordanian Jad Awad was third, also with 5 points, but with a lower number of moves.

Khaled Majid al-Zubara won the Best Qatari Player prize with 5 points, while Sarah al-Mudahka won the Best Qatari Female Player prize with 4 points.

In other categories, Ali al-Sharshani won the Best Qatari Player prize in the under-12 category, and Munira Jassim al-Fakhro was the Best Qatari Female Player in the under-12 category. In the under-10 section, Issa Rashid al-Marikhi won the Best Qatari Player award, and Aisha Jassim al-Fakhro won the Best Qatari Female Player award.

In the under-8 category, Tamim Abdulaziz was the Best Qatari Player while Aisha al-Kuwari the Best Qatari Female Player.

Mohammed al-Mudahka, President of the Qatar Chess Association (QCA), expressed his great pleasure at the overwhelming participation from various nationalities, noting that the tournament was held in partnership with the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum 3-2-1 as part of QCA’s aim to promote chess culture in the community.

Al-Mudahka also expressed his gratitude to the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum 3-2-1 for their cooperation in organizing the tournament for a third successive year.
