Australia booked their place in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final with a commanding eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the first semi-final at The Oval on Tuesday (30 June).
The six-time champions produced a clinical all-round display, restricting West Indies to 125/7 before chasing down the target in just 13 overs to remain unbeaten in the tournament.
After a steady 47-run opening stand, West Indies lost momentum as Australia struck regularly.
Captain Hayley Matthews top-scored with 30, while Deandra Dottin’s late 26 off 16 balls helped lift the total.
Ash Gardner starred with the ball, returning figures of 2/13, while Georgia Wareham and Sophie Molineux also claimed two wickets apiece.
Australia’s chase was led by Beth Mooney, who remained unbeaten on 61 from 36 balls, hitting eight fours.
Gardner capped an outstanding all-round performance with an unbeaten 35 off 18 balls as Australia wrapped up victory with seven overs to spare.
Australia will face either England or South Africa in Sunday’s final at Lord’s.
