The Palestinian Cabinet warned Tuesday of the dangers posed by the escalating Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip amid the resumption of bombing and killing operations, which have resulted in the killing of dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, and the targeting of health and humanitarian facilities, in flagrant violation of international law and the declared understandings on the ceasefire. During its weekly session, the Cabinet affirmed that, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report, the Gaza Strip is facing an acute humanitarian and food crisis, with around 1.4 million Palestinians experiencing dangerous levels of food insecurity, including more than 200,000 people in the emergency phase of food insecurity, while 74,000 children require urgent therapeutic interventions due to malnutrition, amid the continued deterioration of basic services and severe shortages of food and supplies that threaten the lives of civilians, particularly children, women, and the most vulnerable groups. The Cabinet called on the United Nations, international institutions, the international community, and mediators to assume their responsibilities and intensify efforts to pressure Israel to fulfill its obligations. It reiterated the need to provide full protection for civilians, medical facilities, and humanitarian teams, and to ensure the unrestricted delivery of aid and essential supplies to all areas of the Gaza Strip. The Cabinet also warned of the dangers revealed by reports regarding the Israeli occupation’s reactivation of what is referred to as “voluntary migration” under humanitarian pretexts, stressing the need for international guarantees to ensure the return of students and patients to the Gaza Strip after completing their educational and medical trips, and to prevent the exploitation of humanitarian conditions to impose any displacement policies Source link

A projectile struck an Indian-flagged vessel near Yemen, causing it to capsize and sink, but all 14 seafarers on board were rescued, India’s shipping minister Sarbananda Sonowal said yesterday in a post on X. All 14 crew members, including 13 Indians, were rescued by the Yemeni Coast Guard and taken to the Port of Mokha, Sonowal said. The commercial vessel, MSV Faize Noore Oliya, sank in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen on August 4, India’s Foreign Ministry said, adding that it is co-ordinating with the Yemeni authorities over this incident. Indian refiners have switched to cargoes from the Middle East on a delivered basis since the Houthi attacks on several Saudi tankers.Red Sea traffic has been disrupted off the coast of Yemen by the Tehran-aligned Houthis, who want to blockade Saudi exports, expanding the US-Iran conflict that has already choked oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz.   Source link

 Israel has committed over 4,000 official breaches that involved carrying out ground, air, and sea attacks, as well as directly assaulting residential neighborhoods and shelter centers, said Ismail Al Thawabta, Director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, on Tuesday. Al Thawabta added that these violations have resulted in the killing of over 1,252 Palestinians, mostly women and children, along with the injury of over 4,120 people with varying degrees of severity, thereby pushing the health system to further punch above its weight. The Israeli occupation army keeps intently committing methodical and dangerous breaches of the ceasefire decision, Al Thawabta continued, terming these abuses as flagrant challenges to international humanitarian law and a complete downplaying of UN resolutions. Since the first phase of the accord took effect, he noted, relentless assaults have been monitored and documented. Al Thawabta pointed out that the language of figures uncloaks the premeditated intent of the Israeli occupation to perpetuate the aggression and deepen the humanitarian crisis in the enclave. Al Thawabta emphasized that these figures constitute full-fledged war crimes and crimes against humanity to be added to the record of the Israeli occupation in terms of the war of annihilation against the Palestinian people. He highlighted that these unabated abuses realistically test the credibility of the international community, the Security Council, and human rights organizations. In addition, Al Thawabta stressed the importance of shifting from merely making verbal condemnations to taking practical and deterrent actions that compel the Israeli occupation to halt its onslaught and hold its leaders accountable before international courts. Al Thawabta held the Israeli occupation and the US administration fully and directly responsible for the dangerous implications of the ceasefire collapse and the perpetuation of the bloodbath. He asserted that these situations wouldn’t undermine the indomitability of the Palestinian people.
