Chief Commissioner and CEO of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Capt. Daifallah Alfarajat, announced Monday that Jordan has partially closed its airspace to all inbound, transit, and outbound flights in the wake of the unfolding regional developments, to assess the risks based on the highest international standards.Alfarajat clarified that this procedure will be enforced on a daily basis, with the closure effective from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next day, adding that this decision shall be enforced starting from tonight until further notice in pursuit of ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordanian airspace.  Source link

The Lebanese government announced an immediate ban on all security and military activities of Hezbollah, considering them illegal, and called for the group to surrender its weapons to the state, limiting its work to the political sphere within constitutional and legal frameworks.The Lebanese Cabinet, in a statement, expressed absolute rejection, without any ambiguity, of any military or security operations launched from Lebanese territory outside the framework of legitimate state institutions. It stressed that the decision on war and peace rests solely with the state, which requires the immediate prohibition of all security and military activities of the group as they are considered illegal, and the obligation to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state.It instructed all military and security agencies to take immediate measures to implement the decision and prevent any military operations or launching of missiles or drones from Lebanese territory, and to arrest violators.The council also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify diplomatic contacts with the international community and other countries to halt the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and implement relevant international resolutions.   Source link

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,097 martyrs in addition to 171,796 wounded.The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip stated Monday that the Strip’s hospitals received one martyr and five injuries in the past 24 hours, while a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them so far.It said that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire last October has risen to 630, and the total number of wounded to 1,698, while the bodies of 735 martyrs have been recovered from under the rubble.  Source link

Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority announced on Monday the extension of the closure of Iraqi airspace to all arriving, departing and transit flights for an additional 48 hours, considering the ongoing regional developments.In a statement, the authority said the closure will remain in effect from today, Monday, until noon on Wednesday as a temporary and precautionary measure.It explained that the decision was based on a continuous assessment of the regional security situation and recent developments, noting that updates will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.Iraq’s Ministry of Transport had announced on Saturday the initial closure of the country’s airspace following airstrikes on Tehran. Earlier, the management of Erbil International Airport also suspended all flights to and from the airport until further notice.  Source link

Oman announced Monday that an oil tanker was attacked by a drone boat 52 nautical miles off the coast of the capital, Muscat, resulting in the death of one crew member.According to Oman News Agency, the tanker MKD VYOM, carrying approximately 59,463 metric tons and flying the flag of Marshall Islands, was targeted by a drone boat 52 nautical miles northwest of Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat Governorate. The attack caused a fire and an explosion in the main engine room, killing one Indian crew member.The agency said the tanker’s 21-member crew was evacuated in coordination with the Maritime Security Center by the commercial vessel MV SAND, flying the flag of Panama. The crew included 16 Indian nationals, four Bangladeshi nationals, and one Ukrainian national.It added that a vessel from the fleet of the Royal Navy of Oman is monitoring the condition of the damaged tanker and issuing the necessary warnings to ships transiting the same maritime area.   Source link

A fire that broke out after shrapnel hit a fuel tank at a power station has been contained, Kuwaiti authorities announced on Monday. The incident took place during an operation to intercept a drone. No injuries were reported.Spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Fatima Jawhar Hayat explained that a small fire broke out after shrapnel hit a fuel tank at the Doha West Power and Water Distillation Station.She confirmed that the incident resulted in no injuries and was limited to some minor material damage. Ministry teams are continuing to monitor the situation and take all necessary precautionary measures, she added.She stated that the country’s electricity and water systems are operating normally, with full readiness maintained to deal with any emergency. She urged everyone to obtain information strictly from official sources.  Source link

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced Monday the crash of several United States military aircraft, confirming that all crew members survived the incidents.Official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, Colonel Saud Al Atwan, stated that competent authorities immediately commenced search and rescue operations. The crews were evacuated and transported to the hospital to ensure their health status and provide necessary medical care, noting that their condition is currently stable.The spokesperson added that direct coordination with US forces regarding the circumstances of the incident has been established, and joint technical measures are being taken.He affirmed that the relevant authorities are following up on investigations to determine the causes of the crash.  Source link

The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry confirmed Monday that most of the drones approaching the country by sea near the areas of Rumaithiya and Salwa were intercepted, with no injuries recorded.Director General of the Civil Defense, Brigadier General Mohammed Al Mansouri, said in a statement that personnel of Kuwait’s Air Defense Force intercepted a number of hostile aerial targets at dawn today with efficiency and capability. He affirmed that the situation in the country is stable and that the relevant authorities are monitoring developments around the clock within an integrated operational framework.He added that the General Directorate of Civil Defense received several reports of explosions being heard in some areas, explaining that the sounds were the result of interception operations carried out in the air. He noted that Air Force personnel are conducting continuous monitoring and tracking of aerial targets before they enter the country’s airspace.Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait had announced that the Air Defense Force intercepted a number of hostile aerial targets at dawn, after detecting and engaging them within the central operations zone of the country.  Source link

The GCC Ministerial Council issued a statement following its 50th extraordinary meeting on Sunday, addressing the recent regional developments and Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting member states.The following is the full text of the statement:The Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held its 50th extraordinary meeting via videoconference on Sunday, 12 Ramadan 1447H, corresponding to March 1, 2026, chaired by His Excellency Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and current President of the Ministerial Council of the GCC, with the participation of:His Excellency Mr Khalifa Shaheen Almarar, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman,His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, and His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC.The meeting was convened to discuss the Iranian attacks using missiles and drones against the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait, which began on Saturday, February 28, 2026.The Ministerial Council reviewed the extensive damage resulting from the treacherous Iranian attacks on these countries, which targeted civilian facilities, service sites, and residential areas, causing significant material damage, threatening the safety and lives of citizens and residents, and spreading fear among the population. The Council also discussed the necessary measures and steps to coordinate efforts aimed at restoring security and stability and achieving peace in the region.The Ministerial Council expressed its rejection and condemnation in the strongest terms of these heinous Iranian attacks targeting GCC countries, in addition to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Council affirmed that these attacks constitute a serious violation of the sovereignty of these countries, the principles of good neighborliness, and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, regardless of any justifications or pretexts. It further stressed that targeting civilians and civilian objects constitutes a grave violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.The Council also expressed full solidarity among the GCC countries and their unified stance in confronting these attacks, stressing that the security of GCC member states is indivisible, and that any attack against any member state constitutes a direct attack against all GCC countries, in accordance with the GCC Charter and the Joint Defense Agreement.The Council affirmed that GCC countries reserve their legal right to respond, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which guarantees the right of self-defense, individually and collectively, in the event of aggression, and to take all necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and stability.The Council commended the efficiency and readiness of the armed forces and air defense systems of member states, which successfully intercepted missile and drone attacks with a high level of professionalism, contributing to neutralizing the threat, mitigating its impact, and protecting lives, facilities, and vital assets.The Ministerial Council affirmed that, in light of this unjustified Iranian aggression against GCC countries, they will take all necessary measures to defend their security and stability and to protect their territories, citizens, and residents, including the option of responding to the aggression.Despite the numerous diplomatic efforts undertaken by the GCC countries to avoid escalation, and despite their affirmation that their territories would not be used to launch any attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the latter has continued to carry out military operations targeting GCC countries, affecting numerous civilian and residential facilities.The Ministerial Council underscored the necessity of an immediate cessation of these attacks to restore security, peace, and stability in the region. It underscored the vital importance of maintaining aerial and maritime security, protecting regional waterways, ensuring the integrity of supply chains, and guaranteeing the stability of global energy markets. The Council asserted that the stability of the Arabian Gulf region is not merely a regional concern but a fundamental pillar of global economic stability and maritime navigation.The Ministerial Council called upon the international community to strongly condemn and denounce these aggressions. It further urged the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by taking an immediate and firm stance to prevent these violations, which endanger civilian lives, and to ensure they are not repeated, given their grave repercussions for regional and international peace.The Ministerial Council expressed the member states’ gratitude and appreciation to the brotherly and friendly nations that condemned and denounced the Iranian aggression, expressing solidarity with the GCC and supporting the measures taken by the Council states to protect their sovereignty, security, and stability.The Council noted that the GCC states have always advocated for dialogue, negotiations, and the resolution of all issues with the Islamic Republic of Iran, praising the role of the Sultanate of Oman in this regard.The Council reaffirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in international relations as the sole path to overcome the current crisis and preserve regional security and the safety of its peoples. It warned that any escalation would undermine regional security and drag the region toward dangerous trajectories with catastrophic consequences for international peace and security.In conclusion, the Council expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed the dangerous military escalation in the region during a phone call with his US counterpart, Marco Rubio.During the call, Safadi condemned the unjustified Iranian attacks on Jordanian territory and on other Arab states, stressing that Jordan will take all necessary and available steps to safeguard its citizens, security, stability and sovereignty.He underscored the need to intensify efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability, and to pursue diplomacy as the means to end crises and de-escalate tensions in the region.For his part, Rubio affirmed the United States’ solidarity with Jordan in the face of Iranian attacks on its territory and expressed support for all measures taken to protect its citizens, security, and sovereignty.  Source link
