At least 11 killed in Israeli attack on Beit Jinn in Southern Syria

At least 11 people, including women and children, were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli attack that targeted the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside at dawn on Friday.The Syrian News Channel reported that a number of dead and wounded remain trapped under the rubble, noting that Israeli warplanes continued to fly over the road connecting the town of Beit Jinn with the Beit Jinn farm.For its part, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said that Israeli occupation forces shelled Beit Jinn with artillery at 3:40 a.m., while a military unit entered the town, arrested three people, and later withdrew.SANA added that residents confronted the incursion force, which opened heavy fire, leading to violent clashes between the Israeli troops and local residents.At the same time, Israeli aircraft carried out intensive aerial patrols over the area, while warplanes dropped incendiary balloons following the clashes.The agency further reported that the town is witnessing a wave of displacement, with residents fleeing to nearby areas for safety.This escalation comes amid continued Israeli violations in southern Syria, in breach of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Death toll in Israel’s war on Gaza rises to 69,785, with 170,965 injured

The casualty toll of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has soared to 69,785 fatalities and 170,965 injuries.The Gaza Health Ministry, on Wednesday, said that over the past 24 hours, the Strip’s hospitals have received the bodies of 10 martyrs, including two newly declared fatalities and eight whose remains were recovered.Since the ceasefire agreement on October 11, the death toll has risen to 347, while those wounded reached 889, with the number of bodies recovered from under the rubble reaching 596 Palestinians.  Source link

8 Killed, 58 Injured due to Floods, Landslides in Sumatra, Indonesia

Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) announced that eight people have died and 58 others were injured in floods and landslides in South Tapanuli Regency on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.The BNPB stated that the disasters affected 11 sub-districts, with 50 houses damaged and two bridges destroyed by the floods and landslides in North Tapanuli Regency.Additionally, 1,902 houses were affected by the floods in nine sub-districts in the central part of the province, and thousands of residents were forced to evacuate.Earlier this month, 15 people died and eight others went missing due to floods in eastern Indonesia. Erdogan urges global pressure on Israel to allow Gaza aid
