Qatar bowed out of the Asian Volleyball Championship in Fukuoka, Japan, after losing 3-0 South Korea in their third and final Group C match yesterday. South Korean won 25-20, 25-19, 25-15, taking advantage of Qatar’s errors to control the match from the start. The defeat left Qatar without a win in the group stage, having also lost to Chinese Taipei and Thailand. Qatar needed a victory over South Korea to keep their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive, but the third successive defeat ended their campaign. The championship is part of Qatar’s preparations for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan, which will be held from September 19 to October 4.
