The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 31 people were killed and 149 others injured, according to an initial toll, following Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and various areas in the south.In a statement on Monday, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry reported that the casualties included 20 deaths and 91 injuries in the southern suburbs of Beirut, while 11 people were killed and 58 others injured in southern Lebanon. The center emphasized that these figures are expected to rise.The Israeli strikes, particularly those targeting Beirut’s southern suburbs, followed the launching of rockets from southern Lebanon toward the Israeli entity, which triggered a massive wave of displacement.This marks the first time rockets have been launched toward the Israeli entity since the implementation of the ceasefire agreement began in November 2024.On Nov. 27, 2024, a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon came into force, mandating the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern border villages and towns within 60 days. Subsequently, the Lebanese government agreed to extend the deadline until February 18; however, the occupation army has remained stationed at five points and continues its violations.  Source link

Kuwait National Petroleum Company and the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) reported that debris fell at the Mina Al Ahmadi refinery early Monday, causing minor injuries to two workers.Ghanem Al Otaibi, the official spokesperson for both companies, stated in a press release that the injured were transported to the hospital to receive necessary medical care, confirming that both cases are currently stable and under medical observation.Al Otaibi emphasized that operational and production activities at the refinery were not affected and continued without interruption. Emergency teams responded immediately after the incident, and the rapid response plan was activated with all precautionary measures implemented to ensure the safety of employees and facilities, which sustained no damage.He added that the Mina Al Ahmadi Refinery continues to operate at full capacity, with the highest priority given to the safety of its personnel across all sites. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warned that the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East poses significant risks to regional security and stability, particularly in the Gulf states.In a speech before the Malaysian Parliament today regarding the security situation in the region, Ibrahim stated that Malaysia calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and a constructive return to the negotiation path. He emphasized his country’s opposition to the Israeli-American attacks against Iran, which he said “could drag the region into a wider conflict.”Anwar pointed out that Israel continues to repeatedly violate international resolutions, including a series of attacks in Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria, as well as the ongoing massacres of Palestinians in Gaza. He explained that Malaysia believes it is necessary to take a firm stance against any actions that contravene the international order, in order to uphold the principle of the sovereignty of independent states.The Malaysian Prime Minister stressed that attacks on sovereign states will continue in the absence of tangible cooperation among the countries of the region.   Source link

The Saudi Ministry of Energy announced that the Ras Tanura oil refinery sustained limited damage due to debris resulting from the interception of two drones in the perimeter of the refinery.The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted an official source at the Ministry as saying that the incident caused a limited fire, which was immediately handled by emergency response teams, without any injuries or fatalities.The source added that some operational units at the refinery were temporarily shut down as a precautionary measure, without affecting the supply of petroleum and its derivatives to local markets.   Source link

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi warned on Monday of the consequences of escalating regional tensions on security and stability of the region and livelihoods of its peoples, as well as the economic impacts of the ongoing conflict, particularly on prices, especially energy, and on navigation in the Red Sea.During his meeting in Cairo with President of World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, President El Sisi outlined Egypt’s efforts to contain regional tensions and reaffirmed his country’s consistent position of calling for resolution of regional crises through peaceful means, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.He noted that Suez Canal Authority revenues had lost about 10 billion USD due to the war in Gaza over recent years.For his part, the President of World Bank Group highlighted ongoing coordination between the two sides to implement several development projects across various sectors, including social protection, health, food security, education, and climate change mitigation.   Source link

Chief Commissioner and CEO of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Capt. Daifallah Alfarajat, announced Monday that Jordan has partially closed its airspace to all inbound, transit, and outbound flights in the wake of the unfolding regional developments, to assess the risks based on the highest international standards.Alfarajat clarified that this procedure will be enforced on a daily basis, with the closure effective from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next day, adding that this decision shall be enforced starting from tonight until further notice in pursuit of ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordanian airspace.  Source link

The Lebanese government announced an immediate ban on all security and military activities of Hezbollah, considering them illegal, and called for the group to surrender its weapons to the state, limiting its work to the political sphere within constitutional and legal frameworks.The Lebanese Cabinet, in a statement, expressed absolute rejection, without any ambiguity, of any military or security operations launched from Lebanese territory outside the framework of legitimate state institutions. It stressed that the decision on war and peace rests solely with the state, which requires the immediate prohibition of all security and military activities of the group as they are considered illegal, and the obligation to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state.It instructed all military and security agencies to take immediate measures to implement the decision and prevent any military operations or launching of missiles or drones from Lebanese territory, and to arrest violators.The council also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify diplomatic contacts with the international community and other countries to halt the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and implement relevant international resolutions.   Source link

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,097 martyrs in addition to 171,796 wounded.The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip stated Monday that the Strip’s hospitals received one martyr and five injuries in the past 24 hours, while a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them so far.It said that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire last October has risen to 630, and the total number of wounded to 1,698, while the bodies of 735 martyrs have been recovered from under the rubble.  Source link

Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority announced on Monday the extension of the closure of Iraqi airspace to all arriving, departing and transit flights for an additional 48 hours, considering the ongoing regional developments.In a statement, the authority said the closure will remain in effect from today, Monday, until noon on Wednesday as a temporary and precautionary measure.It explained that the decision was based on a continuous assessment of the regional security situation and recent developments, noting that updates will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.Iraq’s Ministry of Transport had announced on Saturday the initial closure of the country’s airspace following airstrikes on Tehran. Earlier, the management of Erbil International Airport also suspended all flights to and from the airport until further notice.  Source link
